Welcome to our dining room, or what I decided was the dining room. The previous owner had used this middle room for TV watching (Murder She Wrote, perhaps?) and lord, was this room crying out to be returned to its original splendor, with a little modern twist of course.
During the painting process. I say process because it took 2 coats of heavy duty primer and 2 coats of BM Aura paint in Grey Owl to cover that red. Hope you didn't get to attached to the ceiling fan because it went bye-bye.

The chandelier came from IKEA and was actually purchased well over a year ago, with the hopes of one day finding a home in my dream dining room. Most Fan houses have soaring ceilings, so I knew there was a good chance it would work. My husband wasn't too keen on it in pictures, but changed his mind once he saw it installed. The mirror came from a bizarre store called Hobby Lobby, which sells a lot of religious-themed decor, and was $60 with a coupon. It came a rubbed bronzed, but I envisioned this baby in sunny yellow and after a coat of spray paint, a beauty emerged. The bowl is from Home Goods and was also rubbed bronze. I went with a bright orange and think it looks pretty fab. The mirror also came from Home Goods and was gold, so I spray painted it a glossy black which gave it a glamorous, Hollywood Regency look. The canvas prints were made with some IKEA fabric and a staple gun. The chevron rug (Hello! Fabulous!) added a lot of graphic impact for little money (about $200) and the table, well, I'll be honest, that one wasn't cheap, but it is gorgeous and will be with us forever.
